After losing 9 players from last year's team, second year boys soccer coach, Aaron Welch , is depending on this year's seniors to provide leadership to his young team. Guaranty Bank & Trust Athlete of the Week, Ryan Cody, is one of these leaders.
Ryan provides a strong presence as defender on the right side of the line and has been a starter in that position for the past 2 years. Overall he has been playing soccer for 6 years. His speed, quick feet and technical skills regularly shutdown opponents.
Ryan started practicing martial arts at the age of 8 and is currently a 2nd degree black belt. His favorite subjects aside from soccer are math and science. After graduating, he plans to attend PJC and become an X-Ray technician.
Known as Rody by teammates and fans, Ryan consistently provides solid defensive play, setting the standard for those that will take the field in years to come. Come out and support him and the Panther teams as they take on Paris in the final game of the season. The games at R. L. Maddox stadium are Tuesday, with the JV at 5:30 followed by the varsity at 7:15.
Conratulations to Ryan Cody for being this week's Guaranty Bank & Trust Athlete of the Week .
