If you’ve watched any North Lamar volleyball over the past several years, then you are no stranger to this week’s athlete of the week. Bailey Foy has been punishing opposing volleyball players for years. The 5’11 senior leads the team in kills and blocks this year.
“I love everything about volleyball. I love playing the sport and being with my teammates all the time because we are so close.” – Bailey
Her love for the game can be seen every time she takes the court, too. Bailey is one of the first players to congratulate others when they accomplish something on the court. She’s not hard to spot on the court, either. She’s usually around the net.
”With shoes on, I’m probably taller.” – Foy says about me assuming she was taller than she says.
Perhaps that’s because she plays taller than she is. Opposing teams have yet to figure out how to stop Bailey when she leaves her feet after the ball has been set her direction. That’s probably why she has excelled in track at the high jump. She also runs the 400 meter dash.
Not sure where she will attend college yet, Bailey hopes to continue her volleyball career. She’s still undecided on a major at the moment as well. There will be time for that, though. Right now it’s volleyball season and that means she’s getting ready for the next opponent. In her free time, Bailey loves to sleep, hang with friend and go to church.
Here is a list of Bailey’s favorite things:
Restaurant: Panda Express
Song: Too Good (Drake)
TV Show: Grey’s Anatomy
Movie: Forrest Gump
If you could go one place on earth, where would it be? I’d go to Paris, France.
If you can have dinner with one person dead or alive, who is it? Dinner with Papa Bill.
If you could go back in time and witness one event live and in person, what event is it? The Holocaust. I want to see how it was back then.
##Congratuatlions Bailey Foy for being this week’s Guaranty Bank & Trust Athlete of the Week
