Most of the time in high school football, once you reach the 50 yard line you will see coaches go for it on fourth down. Unless you have a kicker with the capabilities of Travis Coston. Against Mt. Pleasant last week, Coston calmly walked up to the line and knocked down a 40 yard field goal against the Tigers.
”After working with my coaches this season, I knew I could make it and i was just happy to help my team and put some points on the board.” - Travis Coston speaking about the field goal.
Coston talks about the confidence he has in kicking that ball because of the faith the coaches have shown in him. Coston started playing football when he was a freshman. He became the kicker when he told his coaches he used to play soccer when he was younger.
”I’m excited about our team. I think we have a great group of kids that work hard and have played together for a while.” - the senior says about this year’s North Lamar squad.
Besides football, Coston is also on the North Lamar baseball team. But right now it’s all about football. Outside of football, Coston loves to hunt, fish and spend time out doors. Travis has already joined the Navy and he has hopes of becoming a Navy Seal.
