The North Lamar Panthers and Liberty Eylau Leopards each put runners in scoring position on Tuesday, but the Panthers capitalized on more RBI opportunities, pulling out an 8-5 win at Liberty Eylau.

Liberty Eylau out-hit North Lamar seven to six, but Liberty Eylau stranded eight runners on base. Ty Jones racked up two RBI on a double in the third inning. Kevin Dickey worked out of four tricky spots for the North Lamar. He pitched seven innings and allowed one earned run on seven hits.

North Lamar took the lead for good over the Leopards in the second inning when two runs crossed the plate on a groundout by Dickey. North Lamar built upon their lead with six runs in the third. The inning got off to a hot start when Jones doubled, scoring Trey Scudder and Chad Box. That was followed up by Jake Wynn's single, bringing home Evan Nibblet and Jones.

Liberty Eylau scored three runs in the bottom of the fourth to cut its deficit to five. A two-run single by Tristen Brooks and an RBI single by Noch Brayles sparked Liberty Eylau 's rally. The threat came to an end when Dickey finally got Logan Crawford to strike out.

After pushing across two runs in the bottom of the seventh, Liberty Eylau faced just a 8-5 deficit. A walk by Kemon Freeman and an error gave the Leopards life. However, Cutter Webb struck out to end the ballgame.

With the win, North Lamar is now 6-2 in district. They will play Pleasant Grove on Thursday night at 7:30 and against Pittsburg Friday at 7:30. Both games will be played at North Lamar.
