Pleasant Grove Rallies to Beat North Lamar

The North Lamar Panthers saw victory slip away on Thursday when a five-run fifth inning lead disappeared after a furious charge from Pleasant Grove , who ended up with a 19-9 win. 

The top of the first saw Pleasant Grove take an early lead, 2-0. Landon Russo kicked things off for *Pleasant Grove with a single. A single by Jacob Smith then moved Russo from first to second. 

The Panthers survived Pleasant Grove 's surge and put up three runs of their own in the first. The North Lamar Panthers Varsity scored on an RBI single by Chad Box, an RBI single by Trey Scudder, and an RBI single by Jake Wynn

Pleasant Grove didn't relinquish the lead after scoring 10 runs in the ninth inning when it scored on an RBI double by Joe Pearlman, two sacrifice flys, and two singles.

North Lamar held a 9-4 lead on the third-ranked team in the state after a six run fourth inning. Brayden Steed had a two-run double for North Lamar. Wynn would have a bases clearing triple in the same inning. 

North Lamar will close out district play at home Friday at 7:30 against Pittsburg. The Panthers will have some revenge on their minds as they try to avenge an earlier loss to the Pirates. Pittsburg defeated North Lamar 7-6 on a walk-off walk.
