Merely a few days after the disappointing loss to their crosstown rival Paris High, the North Lamar Panthers bounced back at home against the Pleasant Grove Hawks. North Lamar used great defense to knock off Pleasant Grove 50-43 in Panther gym Tuesday night.

North Lamar quickly found themselves trailing 7-3 in the first quarter. However, the Panthers were able to finish the first on a 9-2 run. North Lamar would start the second half on a 10-0 run as well.

Both runs were sparked by the defense of the Panthers. Tyler Anthony and Hunter Sartor were ferocious down low with their shot-blocking ability. Levi Porter, Versache Buchanan and Samaki Walker wreaked havoc with their quick hands.

Levi led the way for North Lamar on the offensive side of the ball with 14 points. Versache had 13 and Hunter finished with eight points for the Panthers. North Lamar will travel to Liberty-Eylau on Friday night and will be home next Tuesday for Senior night against Pittsburg.
