It was a Déjà vu Ending to the Season for the Panthers

Holding on to a 40-38 lead going into the fourth quarter, the Panthers were eight minutes away from advancing to a Regional Quarterfinal matchup with district foe Pleasant Grove. It was a year earlier, on the same court and against the same team that the Panthers 2014 season ended. Although it was one round further in the playoffs, the results still stung.

The Panthers hadn't forgotten that game. So, when Brownsboro came up as their next opponent, they wanted to return to Wills Point for the matchup. For three quarters, the Panthers were able to square off against the Bears.

Missing the shooting of one of their starters, however, North Lamar hit a cold spell in the fourth. A couple of offensive fouls, two travelling violations, missed shots and turnovers opened the door for Brownsboro. The Bears opened the fourth quarter on a 14-2 lead before Levi Porter sank a shot to break the drought.

By that time, though, it was catch up time for North Lamar. Tamrick Pace for Brownsboro had his way all night as he scored 27 points for the Bears. He was the only one in double figures but it was plenty as most of his points came from within 8 feet of the basket.

North Lamar was led in scoring by Porter, who had 15. Hunter Sartor had 11 for the Panthers. For North Lamar, this is the final game for senior players Samaki Walker, Ty Jones, Hunter Sartor, Kyle Dunmon, Tyler Anthony, Ed Wengertor and Aaron Ables.
