It wasn't pretty at times but the North Lamar Panthers took care of business and defeated the Atlanta Rabits for their first district win of the season. The Panthers (1-0) were never really in jeopardy of losing the game. Atlanta never scored more than 13 points in a quarter and North Lamar only scored less than 13 (12) once.

Versache Buchanon led the team with 16 points. Levi Poter finished with 15 for North Lamar. The Panthers' defense caused problems for Atlanta all night long as they caused 21 Rabit turnovers in the game.

North Lamar will host crosstown rivals Paris High Tuesday night at 7:30. There will be a fundraiser before the game in which Burgerland will be serving burgers and fries. Proceeds go to help the baseball and softball teams.
