After an emotional loss Saturday night at Paris, the North Lamar Panthers bounced back at home against the Pleasant Grove Hawks. North Lamar had three players in double figures as they won 63-51 before their home crowd.

"We're peaking a lot better this week. I like wehere we're at. Do I think we are where we need to be? No." - Homer Garner

The game was close throughout the first half as both teams battled to a 26-26 halftime score. North Lamar, however, would outscore the Hawks 23-12 in the third quarter behind Menderiz Gray and his nine points.

From that point, the fourth quarter was mostly back and forth as Pleasant Grove could never get any closer. It was the second half, that saw North Lamar with some easy transition buckets. Versache Buchanan and Levi Porter helped spread the floor for the Panthers.

This game wound up being a polar opposite from the game these two teams played in Texarkana earlier in the year. A game in which North Lamar lost 64-45.

"The difference was about two and a half weeks. On the other side of that. They didn't shoot 50% from the field. We guarded. We shot the ball better tonight. We moved the ball better tonight. We got into the paint more tonight. We got to the foul line more." - Home Garner

With the win, North Lamar is now 4-4 in district and in third place. The Panthers will close out the season at Libery Eylau on Friday and then at home for senior night against Pittsburg Tuesday.
