Versache Buchanan and Levi Porter got off to a hot start as the Panthers easily took care of Gilmer in the Bi-District round of the playoffs. Versache scored a team high 21 points as North Lamar defeated the Buckeyes 74-50.

Versache and Levi scored the first 10 points of the game as the Panthers jumped out to a 10-0 lead. Buchanan knocked down a couple of threes and Levi added one of his own plus a free throw. The Panthers showed a full-court press as well that really caused problems for Gilmer. The first four times down the court, the Buckeyes turned the ball over to North Lamar.

North Lamar made them pay as well as they took a 26-4 lead after the first quarter. The Panthers kept the pressure on in the second quarter as they extended the lead to 30 at 44-14. This time it was Levi providing the offensive explosion as he scored 10 points in the quarter.

In the second half, the Panthers took the foot off the gas as they were able to sub players in and get some rest for the starters. In the end, North Lamar finished with the 24 point victory. The Panthers will face Athens in the Area Round. That game will be on Saturday at 2 pm. It will be played in Sulphur Springs.
