The North Lamar Panthers Football Team will wrap up their second annual fundraiser on Saturday, August 22 at the Fall Sports Kickoff Party that will be held at the James A. Dawson Athletic Facility. Beginning at 6:00 p.m., Panther and Pantherette fans and families are invited to join the fun to kick off the 2015 season. Coaches and team members of football, volleyball, cross country, and cheerleading will be introduced and on hand to meet their fans.
Football team members have been contacting businesses and individuals to raise funds for the football program. Monies raised during the fundraiser will be used for continued improvements to the weight room, locker rooms, and hallways, which not only benefits the football team but all athletes assigned to the athletic facility during their sport’s season.
Athletic Director Tim Billings has challenged players to double last year’s goal. “Last year we set our goal at $25,000. Our community rallied together and we were able to bring in $28,000. I have full confidence that we can double our goal to continue the improvements for our athletic program.”
Improvements from last year’s fundraiser included new flooring to the football locker rooms, new weight room and flooring for the Jr. High program, and added improvements to the high school weight room.
Coach Billings and the North Lamar coaches invite all to join the fun and grab a bite to eat this Saturday. Back by popular demand will be the dunking booth with coaches taking turns to be dunked by players.
Donations for the fundraiser may be sent to North Lamar Football, 3201 Lewis Lane, Paris, Texas, 75460. For more information, call 903.669.0190.
