The North Lamar Panthers JV defeated the Commerce Tigers JV Thursday night 48-14 at R.L. Maddox stadium. It was a great start to the new season and one that the Panther coaches and players were hoping to see.

Austin Allison led the way for the Panthers on the offensive side by running for five touchdowns and throwing for another one to WR Bailey Downs. Allison also scored another touchdown on a punt return. Brody Evans also received a lot of carries Thursday and did a great job eating up tough yards throughout the game.

The Panther defense came up with big stops all evening as well as forcing several fumbles. Travis Coston and Corbin Hines added a pair of interceptions to the totals and the special teams of the Panthers played outstanding as well. The JV Panthers are looking to go 2-0 as they will host Whitesboro at R.L. Maddox. (By Chris Billings)
