The North Lamar Pantherettes didn't finish the regular season like they had hoped on Tuesday night. North Lamar came into their game with Pleasant Grove perfect in district play. The Lady Hawks, however, handed the Pantherettes their first and only loss in district. After clinching the district title Friday against Paris High, North Lamar suffered a 55-39 defeat to the second place Lady Hawks.

Pleasant Grove jumped out to a 14-0 lead on North Lamar to start the game. The Pantherettes battled back and cut the lead down to three at 19-16. However, Pleasant Grove was too much for North Lamar as they pulled away and eventually defeated the Pantherettes.

This was a sort of retribution game for Pleasant Grove. Earlier in the season, North Lamar defeated the Lady Hawks 64-40 behind 12 three-pointers. With the loss, North Lamar finishes the season 24-7 and 9-1 in district action.

North Lamar, now, will set their eyes on the playoffs. The Pantherettes will face Spring Hill on Monday February 16th at 7:00 in Rains. North Lamar will be the home team for the contest.
