For one of the first times all year, the North Lamar Pantherettes put together a complete game as they beat Liberty Eylau 52-33. This was much different than the 49-23 loss North Lamar suffered earlier at Liberty Eylau. It was a game in which the Pantherettes only managed four points in the first half of the game.
"We start the second half of district against a 5-0 team and there's no pressuer on us. All the pressure is on LE." - Coach Brett Harp
This game, however, opened with Bill Jones knocking down a three for North Lamar. Madison Morrison would add another three in the quarter on her way to 10 first quarter points.
The story of the game, though, was the dominance of the Pantherettes on the boards and the ability of them to move without the ball. Bailee Nickerson found herself wide open under the goal because of her movement. She scored a team-high 18 points for North Lamar, with most of those coming under the basket.
"B. Nick moves well anyways and she slashes and gets to the goal alot. She's pretty good at doing it and we did a good job of seeing her cuts tonight." - Coach Harp
With the win, North Lamar improves to 3-3 in district and will be on the road for the next three games starting at Pittsburg Tuesday night.
