It wasn't the hope start that coach Harp wanted from his team, but its the start that he got. The North Lamar Pantherettes couldn't buy a bucket in the first half against Honey Grove in their 44-25 loss.
North Lamar managed only two points in the first quarter and failed to reach double-digits in any of the four quarters. After the game was tied 2-2, the Pantherettes were out scored 15-0 to close out the quarter.
The North Lamar defense had a great second half, holding Honey Grove to only 14 points, however, they only scored 14 themselves on offense. Madison Morrison led the team with nine points. Both Summer Andrews and Bailee Nickerson finished with seven points, while McKayla Figueroa chipped in two.
McKenzie Mitchell led the team with five rebounds off the bench. Morrison led the team with five steals. North Lamar will be in the Edgewood tournament beginning Thursday.
