North Lamar Boys Track Advances to Area

The North Lamar High School boys track team participated in the District meet on Wednesday, April 15. The team scored 106 points and finished 4th in a very tough district.

Thirteen qualified to represent NLISD at the Area meet on Thursday, April 23. They are: Jonathan Edwards, pole vault;  Grant Charman, pole vault; Wesley Culbertson, pole vault; Kyle Dunmon, 800m run; Micah Booker, 800m run;Tyler Anthony, high jump; Keitron Reed, high jump; and Brandon Halliday, discus.

Three relay teams qualified for area:  Brayden Steed, Samaki Walker, Austin Stephens, and Keitron Reed in the 4x100 relay; Braydon Steed, Trey Scudder, Austin Stephens, and Keitron Reed in the 4x200 relay; and in the 4x400 relay are Samaki Walker, Kyle Dunmon, Tyler Anthony, and Trey Scudder who broke the school record for this event with a time of 3:28.01.

Individual district champions were Tyler Anthony, Jonathan Edwards, and Kyle Dunmon.  Two members of the JV team were named district champions.  They are Jesse Lynch in the 1600m run and Sam Cowling in pole vault.
