North Lamar Plans Homecoming Week Activities

North Lamar’s first district football game of the season kicks off with Homecoming on Friday, October 9 at R. L. Maddox Stadium with the Panthers taking on the Pittsburg Pirates.  This year’s theme is ‘Wreck the Pirates!’ Each day throughout the week of October 5-9, students across the district will follow a daily dress theme.  

The homecoming week dress themes are: Roll Over the Pirates (Roll Outta Bed) on Monday, Outshine the Pirates (Neon Colors) on Tuesday, Wipe Out the Pirates (Dress Hawaiian) on Wednesday, Ride Out the Pirates (Dress Western) on Thursday, and Blue and Gold Day (Show your NL Spirit) on Friday. 

The Homecoming Pep Rally will be Friday morning beginning at 9:00 a.m.  During this time, any past homecoming kings and queens attending the pep rally will be presented along with the King and Queen Nominees for 2015.  North Lamar’s Homecoming King will to be announced at part of the pep rally activities.  This year’s king nominees are Klayton Drake, Grant Erickson, Ty Lane, Trey Scudder, and Michael ‘Big Mike’ Thomas. 

The Homecoming Parade is scheduled for Friday, October 9 at 1:30 p.m. allowing all North Lamar students to take part in the festivities.  The route will begin at North Lamar High School and meander through the district’s campuses for all to see.  Guests may park in the Stone Middle School parking lot or the James A. Dawson Athletic Facility parking lot,

The Homecoming Queen Coronation will take place at 6:45 p.m. at R. L. Maddox Stadium as part of the pre-game activities.  The 2015 North Lamar Queen Nominees are Karlee Alexander, Brittany Birch, Brooke Crawford, Skylar Hill, Abby Lacey, and Savannah Moore.  Game time begins at 7:30 p.m.
