The North Lamar High School 2014 yearbook “PantherNation” was awarded nine distinguished merit awards from the Interscholastic League Press Conference and an overall rating of Award of Achievement.

A rating of distinguished merit means the yearbook was among the best in Texas and evaluated categories were scored as excellent and polished. This rating was given in the categories of photography, captions, writing, headlines, sports, academics, organizations and special sections coverage.

“This is the best score we have received to date,” publications adviser Cheryl LaRue said. “We have sold out for the past three years and are working diligently on the 2015 yearbook ‘You Are Here’ to beat these ratings.”

Editors for the 2014 yearbook were Kayla Phillips, editor-in-chief, Gabby Keys and Jerica Newman, assistant editors, along with section editors Lydia Jimenez, sports; Kaylie Dority, fine arts; Ryan Reily, chief photographer, Colton Chumbley, chief graphic designer, and Carolina Berg.
