North Lamar High School bands have a long history of earning the UIL Sweepstakes award, and again this year the band earned a Double Sweepstakes.

This fall the NLHS Marching Band earned superior ratings for their halftime show “Art at the Speed of Life.” This spring the varsity and non-varsity bands competed separately in the Concert and Sight-Reading Contest.  Both bands earned Superior/1st Division ratings for their concert performance and their sight-reading performance.  The concert performance is judged on three pieces of prepared music then on a piece of music they have never seen before.
