Wearing Aussie style hats and armed with questions, Everett Elementary 2nd and 3rd grade Gifted and Talented students Skyped with Australian Dan Wicks. Wicks, who currently is getting his degree in Arkansas before moving back to his homeland, answered questions about Australia’s animals, major cities, highest mountain, unique landscapes, population, and indigenous people and more. He also shared a few Australian words for many common household items.
The Skype was set up through Rachel Spencer, who is friends with Wicks’ wife, to help the students with their Australian research presentations. Spencer’s daughter, Roselyn, is a student in Peggy Stephen’s GT class at Everett. She and her class presented their projects this week to peers and guests.
