Law enforcement officials in Paris and Lamar County were honored during Law Enforcement Appreciation Week on Thursday.  Traveling by bus, Aaron Parker’s kindergarten class was taken to the Paris Police Department and the Lamar County Sheriff’s Office to present appreciation banners, cakes, and thank you cards and letters to the officers.  Several students shared why they are thankful for those who protect and serve.  Bracelets, coloring books, and pencils were given to the students in return.

“We are fortunate to have wonderful officers in the city of Paris and Lamar County so we decided to honor them this week,” said Principal Tammie Bates

Parker Elementary then held a reception on Friday to honor North Lamar’s Resource Officers Jeff Akard, Mike Boaz, and Daron Dagenhart as well as Sheriff Scott Cass and the Lamar County sheriff deputies that patrol the Parker campus.  The officers were welcomed by Parker students and staff who shared words and cards of appreciation.
