Color Run Exceeds Expectations

A span of color was the scene at the starting line of the First Annual North Lamar National Honor Society Color Run held over the weekend.  Beginning at North Lamar High School and meandering through campus, eighty runner participated and help exceed expectations after being postponed a week due to weather.

“We raised over $2,600 to be given as scholarships to graduating seniors this year,” said NHS sponsor Melissa Arnold.

Arnold’s goal was to raise $2,000 this first year.  The success of this year’s run is encouraging for setting a higher goal next year and awarding even more scholarships to those continuing their education beyond high school.
