Blankets Donated with Children in Mind

The Gifted and Talented first graders at Higgins Elementary presented the Children’s Advocacy Center 75 child-sized blankets for children who come to the center and are in need of comforting.  The community service project began in February and were presented to Executive Director Rebecca Peevy at the center’s annual balloon release on May 1.

G.T. students kneeling in front of the bags of blankets beginning left are Quin Bills, Dane Dillen, Kelsey Jackson, Ansley Fisher, Colt Fendley, Gavin Lassiter, and David Pena.  Standing in back are Colston Fendley, Jackson Jones, Rebecca Peevy, Brayden Hammer, William Trenchard, and G.T. teacher Sonja Carter.
