Duo Qualifies for State at Naaman Speech and Debate Tournament

North Lamar High School’s Speech and Debate team competed in a tournament at Naaman Forest High School over the weekend. The team of Colin Hodgkiss and Steele Musgrove placed first in Policy Debate qualifying them for the Texas Forensic Association state meet in March. Kay Edwards placed first in International Extemporaneous and previously qualified for the state meet in an earlier tournament. Other individual results were Musgrove who was second Speaker in Policy Debate and fourth in Domestic Extemporaneous, Jake Chollet who got third in Congressional Debate, and Hodgkiss who got seventh in International Extemporaneous. Sponsor for North Lamar’s Speech and Debate competitors is Kristi Hodgkiss.
