Second graders perform contraction surgery

School NewsGreg Higgins

Using the medical symbol of a cross on their heads, these young doctors in Taylor Bland’s second grade class at Everett Elementary performed contraction surgery on words.  It all began when contractions fell out of words resulting into two words.  The medical teams went to work to surgically remove letters not needed for a contraction then stitched them together with an apostrophe to make them whole again.
