NLHS Finalists Advance to Regional Science Fair

Ten finalists from North Lamar High School’s Pre-AP Biology or AP Biology class will compete with their independent research projects at the Kilgore Regional Science Fair at Kilgore College on February 26.  The students were selected after presenting their projects during school before judges.

Those who will represent North Lamar beginning front row left are Gracie Rutz – ‘Does Temperature Affect the Surface Tension of Water?’, Abbie Fischer– ‘Drug Dissolubility’, Sayek Shafiz – ‘How does the pH of soil affect the pH of Water?’, Kylie Jackson – second place with ‘Nature's Filter’, Josh Fulton – first place with ‘Antimicrobial Effect of Venom from Hogna carolinensis (Carolina Wolf-Spider), Allison Bright – third place with ‘How Sweet It Is’, Emma Stewart – ‘Keeping Frog's Alive in a Man-Made Ecosystem’, Kimber Scott – ‘Can You See That?’, Mary Gilbert – ‘Curl Up and Dye’ and Hunter Jones – ‘The Sound of Music’.
