NLHS UIL Preps for District Academic Meet

Members of the North Lamar UIL Academic Team returned with medals and plaques after competing at the UIL Academic meet in Quitman on February 13. Takeyah Griffin earned fourth in Science and top chemistry score; Heather Armstrong earned third place in Math and fifth place in Number Sense; Brittany Pilkington  earned first place in Literary Criticism; Kyra Colin earned second place in Literary Criticism; Rael Memnon earned third place in Literary Criticism; Melody Shannon earned eighth place in Literary Criticism; and the Literary Criticism Team earned first place.  Quitman is one of a large number of practice UIL meets the North Lamar Team participates in as they get ready for District Competition in April.  The North Lamar Academic Team has competed at the Quitman Meet since 1979.
