NL Student Crime Stoppers Recognized at State Conference

North Lamar High School Student Crime Stoppers traveled to Odessa, Texas, to attend the 21st Annual Texas Campus Crime Stoppers Conference on February 22-24 hosted by the Odessa Crime Stoppers. Some of the conference topics included Gangs, Bullying, Sexting and Narcotics/Weapons on campus.

North Lamar Student Crime Stoppers received awards for Most Number of Cases Recovered for its population size and Best News Print.  Sophomore Melody Shannon and Junior Tanner Liles are serving their second term as Ambassadors. Sophomore Korbin Hamner was elected as a new Ambassador and Sophomore Sarah Gentry was elected as an alternate Ambassador.  During the conference, Ambassadors work the breakout sessions, introduce speakers, hand out materials and miscellaneous jobs to assure a smooth running conference.  Sponsors for the North Lamar Crime Stoppers are Billy Copeland, Mike Boaz, and Angela Shannon.
