The North Lamar Pantherettes JV soccer team sealed their district title with a 4-0 win over crosstown rival Paris in the final season matchup. The victory completed their perfect record in district play. The Pantherettes only lost two games in preseason, with one of the losses coming against the varsity team from Community. The Pantherettes’ romp the the rest of the season included two wins against the varsity team from Liberty-Eylau and two shutout wins against crosstown rival Paris.
North Lamar did not give up a goal throughout district play, allowing only six for the entire season. Four of those were in the opening game loss to Sulphur Springs. The Pantherettes were familiar with the goal, scoring 25 points for the season. Coach Duanna Ewell was thrilled with the girls play and enjoyed a splash in the mud with the team as they celebrated their final victory over the Lady Wildcats.
The success of the JV squad bodes well for the Pantherette soccer program. The North Lamar varsity girls will wrap up district play on Monday, March 23rd, with a home matchup against Bonham.
