On Friday night, the Panthers would take the pitch in a rematch against Sunnyvale. Earlier in the year, NL easily defeated this opponent and expected to do so again.
On a night that coach Aaron Welch summarized by saying his team never really came out of the locker room, NL would lose the match 2-0.
On Tuesday, a much more disciplined and determined squad took the field to face Chapel Hill. Korbin Peralta (18) opened the scoring with first half goal to give NL a 1-0 lead. Despite several scoring opportunities, this score would hold up until halftime.
NL came out in the 2nd with a frenzied attack on the Chapel Hill defense. Christian Stockton (15) scored two goals and Peralta got his second of the night to give the Panthers a 4-0 victory. Isaiah Lester (7) and Ryan Cody (19) each had an assist on the night. Nick West (8) provided multiple highlight saves to preserve the shutout.
The Panther squad followed this win with a 3-0 loss to Pleasant Grove on Friday, bringing their record to 5-7-1 on the year. They have a rematch with Chapel Hill on Tuesday.
