Pantherettes Begin Softball Season with Dominating Performance

The North Lamar Pantherettes softball team jumped out to an early lead Friday night against Community and they never looked back. North Lamar only needed four innings to put 16 runs on the board on their way to a 16-3 victory in their first game of the season.

Tanna Huie highlighted the first inning with a two-run triple. Tanna would also add a solo home run in the third inning for the Pantherettes. Huie led North Lamar with three RBI.

Sarah Penrose started the game in the circle for North Lamar. She pitched three innings, allowing three runs while striking out four batters. Only one of the three runs was earned, however. Freshman Reagan Richardson pitched the last two innings for North Lamar. Richardson struck out four batters and didn't allow a hit.

North Lamar will be getting several more additions to their team as well. Bailee Nickerson, Bill Jones and Madison Morrison are all returning varsity members. All three girls were members of the District Champion basketball team this season. You will also be able to see Jordan Jones (also a part of the basketball team) in the dugout.
