Pantherettes Compete in Softball Scrimmage

The North Lamar Pantherettes found themselves on the softball diamond Saturday afternoon. North Lamar hosted a three-team scrimmage in which the Pantherettes took the field with Denison and Mt. Pleasant.

The scoreboard was turned off and the games were played under an hour and ten minute time limit. Whichever team was batting when the time ran out was allowed to finish the inning before the game was called.

North Lamar played Mt. Pleasant in the first game. They sat out the second game as Dension and Mt. Pleasant squared off. Denison and North Lamar closed out the scrimmage on Saturday. Coach Jimmy Fendley was excited to get the ball rolling on a new season.

Fendley, who didn't get a wink of sleep the night before, is coaching a little short handed for the time being. Bill Jones, Madison Morrison and Bailey Nickerson are all playing basketball right now. With the way that team is playing, he may have to continue coaching short-handed for a while longer.
