A magnificent effort by Reagan Richardson hoisted North Lamar to an 11-3 win in seven innings over Liberty-Eylau on Tuesday. Richardson baffled Liberty-Eylau, striking out 15 batters, allowing no earned runs on three hits and one walk over seven innings.
The Pantheretts beat Liberty-Eylau thanks to nine hits, including two extra base hits. North Lamar scored five runs in the seventh on an error, a two-run double by Sarah Penrose, a sacrifice fly by Summer Andrews, and a wild pitch.
Penrose racked up three RBIs on two hits for North Lamar. North Lamar brought home five runs in the fifth inning, and matched that run total in the seventh. In the fifth, the Pantheretts scored on an error, bringing home Jaycie McEwin.
After pushing across three runs in the bottom of the sixth, Liberty-Eylau faced just a 6-3 deficit. An RBI single, a wild pitch, and a passed ball sparked Liberty-Eylau's rally. Finally, Richardson got a strike out to end the threat.
North Lamar is now 1-0 in District and will have their home opener Monday against Pittsburg, weather permitting.
