The North Lamar Pantherettes had no trouble finishing off their Bi-District series with Tyler-Chapel Hill Friday night. After defeating them 15-2 on the road Thursday night, North Lamar came back home Friday and took care of business with a 7-0 win.
Reagan Richardson got the start again for the Pantherettes in the circle. Richardson followed up Thursday's two-hitter with another two-hitter on Friday night. Reagan only needed 75 pitches to get through the seven innings. She allowed no runs on two hitss She didn't walk a batter and had six strikeouts. The two hits allowed by the freshman pitcher were scattered too. Chapel Hill only managed a hit in the first inning and the sixth inning.
Offensively, North Lamar had 13 hits off the Chapel Hill pitchers. Reagan and Bailee Nickerson both had three hits in their four plate appearances.
The big blow came in the bottom of the third inning. With North Lamar leading 1-0, Richardson reached base on a single. Nickerson would then hit a 1-1 pitch over the fence for a two-run homer. Erin Scholl would double for North Lamar and would score on a single by Lauren Hodges.
North Lamar would add three more in the sixth inning to get the score to 7-0. Jaycie McEwin would lead off the inning with a double and would come around to score on an error by Chapel-HIll. Kayla Igleheart, who reached base on the error, would score when Madison Morrison ripped a double to left field. She would then score on a Nickerson single.
Altogether it was a great series win for the Pantherettes. North Lamar will now face Brownsboro in the area round of the playoffs. The teams will play at Brownsboro Thursday at 7:00. Game two will be at North Lamar Friday at 6:00. If necessary, game three will be at Texas A&M Commerce at 3:00 on Saturday afternoon.
