It's not the game you ever want to see from your varsity softball team, but you especially don't want to see it in district play. After defeating Liberty Eylau a week earlier, North Lamar struggled in Pittsburg as they fell 8-3.
North Lamar committed five errors in the loss leading to three unearned runs. The defensive struggles started in the first inning when Pittsburg scored on two errors by the Pantherettes. Hannah Clark got the scoring going for North Lamar in the second inning with a two-run single that scored Summer Andrews and Bill Jones.
Pittsburg would get three runs in the bottom of the inning, however, and would retake a lead that would never be relinquished. Reagan Richarson took the loss for North Lamar as she gave up seven runs (four earned) in 4.2 innings pitched. North Lamar is now 1-1 in district and will travel to Atlanta Friday night.
