It's not the way you want the regular season to end, but North Lamar's season isn't over yet. The Pantherettes fell to Pleasant Grove on the road 7-5 Tuesday night thanks to a three-run walk-off home run.
North Lamar, who beat Pleasant Grove earlier in the season, battled back from a 4-1 deficit to take a 5-4 lead going into the bottom of the seventh inning. It was then that Faith Lipham took an 0-1 pitch and planted it behind the wall in centerfield.
At the plate, North Lamar got offensive production from Reagan Richardson, who went 3-4 including a double. Erin Scholl went 1-3 with a homerun. The other RBI came from Madison Morrison and Bailee Nickerson who each had one a piece.
With the loss, North Lamar finishes district 6-4 and will be the third place team. Last year the third place team from the district made it to the State Tournament. Can North Lamar repeat that this year? We will find out beginning next week as the playoffs begin.
