The North Lamar Pantherettes continue their dominance in district Friday night as they defeated Pittsburg 10-0 in five innings. Through five district games, North Lamar has outscored their opponents 65-6.
Reagan Richardson had another remarkable pitching performance for the Pantherettes. The third batter of the game doubled for Pittsburg and that was the only hit allowed on the night by Richardson. Pittsburg would only manage to get three batters on in total. One batter was hit by a pitch and another walked. That was it.
On the other side of the plate, though, the Pantherettes racked up 12 hits on their way to 10 runs. Richardson, Madison Morrison and Ashlyn Reavis all ended the night with two hits for North Lamar. Morrison led the team with four RBI's.
In the first inning, Richardson, Morrison and Erin Scholl all hit fly balls that probably would have been home runs on any other night. However a strong wind blowing in from center field caused them to all stay inside the park. Bailee Nickerson provided the only homer on the night as she hit a two-run shot in the second inning.
With the win, North Lamar is now 5-0 in district and will play at Pleasant Grove Tuesday night. They will be back home for three straight games beginning with Liberty Eylau next Friday night.
